How to end the housing crisis - Councillor Calum Davies

Radyr and Morganstown Councillor Calum Davies was part of the panel at Welsh Conservative Party Conference which discussed 'How to end the housing crisis.' The panel was chaired by Councillor Francesca O'Brien, and included Janet Finch-Saunders MS, NRLA and Propertymark.

The discussions were around housebuilding, empty homes, social housing, and overregulation of private landlords.

Following the event, Calum said, "I was delighted to have this platform to discuss the many housing crises in Wales and across the United Kingdom, especially about the need to increase supply to meet demand.

"Young people today face a larger hurdle to own a home than previous generations and it's essential that we address this through housebuilding.

"There are 8,000 houses being built in and around my ward but we need new towns across the UK, building in second-home hotspots, and more besides.

"Housing is the key to better outcomes in health, education, social care, the economy, and beyond.

"This is not just imperative to our Party's future but the prosperity of future generations."
