Coffee pod recycling is here!

If you use coffee pods and are fed up with not being able to recycle them, Cardiff Council is supporting Podback, a new recycling service to help reduce waste, save resources and give materials a second life. The pods are sent for reprocessing within the UK, the plastic and aluminium are recycled into new products, and the coffee grounds create soil improver and renewable energy.

Podback is a nationwide, not-for-profit, coffee pod recycling service. Created by the biggest names in coffee pod systems, Nespresso, NESCAFE Dolce Gusto and Tassimo, to give people who enjoy the quality and taste of coffee pods simple and easy ways to recycle them.

To get started, simply sign up at podback.org. You will receive two rolls of free Podback recycling bags. Fill the Podback recycling bags with your used pods. Remember to use separate bags for aluminium and plastic pods.
